J.K. Rowling writing a new Adult book?

It has come to my attention that Rowling is working on a new book for adults. I saw the scrawl on my news station. She has settled with publisher Little Brown & Co.  for this next book which rumor has it is one geared more toward the adults.

The title according to U.S.A. Today is called "The Casual Vacancy". And that the story will be set in an English town called Pagford.

She said she wants to work at her own pace. Smart woman. She doesn't have to worry about public demand on this one (or does she?). She wanted to go with a different publisher--because she can. Good for her for her!

I will update this as I find more about this. I can't wait to see what she has to offer. I'm a big fan.

What do you think?

After checking this out, I've learned that "The Casual Vacancy" will be out in September of this year, and you can pre-order it. But here's the kicker, and the whole business of these Traditional publishers trying to hike the price of ebooks--the price of the ebook is $19.99!

I don't know about you, but I'm gonna wait until the paperback... or the movie, whichever comes first.

  1. wait there isn't any mention to being harry or potter in the title... kidding. heck this woman could write soup labels and it would still be a good read.

  2. Is it going to be a paranormal read?

  3. I think I'll read anything she publishes. I'm with Retro-Zombie on that soup label thing.

  4. I'm excited, but not at the same time because I read a little bit of what it's about in an article yesterday, and it doesn't really appeal to me! I might read it anyway, just because it's J.K. Rowling, but I'm a little bummed. I was hoping she'd do something, idk, more magical, lol!

  5. Now,now my pretties. Rowling has not revealed a whole lot about this book as yet. Heck, it wasn't until this morning when I saw any title, and could not find it mentioned (title), on the places I went to (like

So, as soon as she reveals it I will let you guys know. I only have heard that it might be a mystery--which makes sence since Harry Potter was essentially mysteries steeped in the paranormal. So, my guess would be she couldn't hardly pull of anything less interesting, I would think.

Thank you, Retro-Zombie, Shelly, M.J. and Courtney for stopping by and giving me your feedback. Love it when you do!
